AMAZING HSTORIC PLACE "BRUCKER MUHLE"
The name "Brucker Muhle" (Muhle = Mill) can be derived from the settlement Bruck, which was located on the eastern slope of the Amöneburg near the bridge over the river Ohm (Lahn tributary).
This transition represented a junction of the road routes through the "high Hessen" and the trade route Cologne - Leipzig, as well as the "long Hessen" and the trade route Frankfurt - Hanover.
The mill belonged to the Archdiocese of Mainz, which had administered the Upper Hessian area since Boniface von Amöneburg. At the beginning of the 15th century and during the Thirty Years War, the mill was destroyed several times. In 1648 a hammer mill was also installed. During this time, the miller had the right to pour beer (Amõneburgers) who were passing through, the malt of which was ground in the mill. The mill rent was offset against cattle and grain tax until the 19th century.

One of the river's distinguishing features is that it emerges directly into the sea, and its lower portion is subject to tidal influences. The area also represents a significant habitat for biodiversity conservation. The site contains a full 'mountain-to-sea' ecosystem and has some of the most important forests in Asia.
